Privacy Policy

Satori ("we", "our", "us") operates the website satori.guru and the Satori mobile app for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal data.
The short version: Satori has no accounts. Your learning progress stays on your device. The app sends only anonymous usage statistics that cannot be traced back to you.
1. The Website

We do not collect: names, phone numbers, payment information, location data, or any data from your exercise sessions. Exercise progress on the website is stored only in your browser (localStorage) and never sent to our servers.
2. The Mobile App
No accounts, local progress
The app requires no registration and has no user accounts. Your learning progress, statistics, and settings are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. We cannot see, access, or recover them.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand which features are used and improve the app, we collect anonymous usage events (for example: "a session was completed", "a reminder was enabled") through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in Germany. What this involves:
- A random identifier is generated on your device at first launch. It is not derived from you or your device identity and is additionally hashed before storage. It cannot be linked to your name, email, or any real-world identity — we do not have that information in the first place.
- Events contain only category labels and counters — never exercise answers, free text, contacts, or location.
- These statistics are anonymous by design and cannot be traced back to you, so they are not personal data. There is no per-user opt-out; if you prefer to send nothing at all, please do not use the app.
Purchases
Payments are processed entirely by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We never receive or store your payment details. To unlock purchased content and support purchase restoration, purchase receipts are validated by RevenueCat, a purchase-infrastructure service, under a random anonymous identifier. This identifier is not linked to your identity.
Reminders
Daily practice reminders, if you enable them, are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing about them is sent to any server.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process data based on:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for launch-notification emails on the website.
- Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — for security measures (bot protection via Cloudflare) and for anonymous, aggregate usage statistics used solely to improve the product. These statistics carry no identifier that could single you out.
- Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — for validating in-app purchases so that content you bought stays unlocked.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Email addresses are stored in Cloudflare D1, a serverless database operated by Cloudflare, Inc.
- Anonymous usage events are stored by TelemetryDeck in the EU (Germany).
- Purchase receipt data is stored by RevenueCat in the US.
- All data is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
- Access to our systems is restricted to the site administrator only.

6. Your Rights
Under GDPR, LGPD (Brazil), and other applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion — request that we delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured format
- Complaint — file a complaint with your local data protection authority
Note that app usage statistics are anonymous by design: we have no way to identify which events came from you, and therefore cannot link them to a request. Your learning progress is under your direct control on your device.

7. Data Retention
- Email addresses — until you request deletion, or within 90 days after launch if you do not continue with Satori, or if the project is discontinued.
- Anonymous usage events — retained in aggregate form for product analytics.
- Purchase records — retained while your purchase remains active, so it can be restored on reinstall.
- Learning progress — never leaves your device; removed when you delete the app or use "Reset progress" in Settings.
8. Children's Privacy
Satori is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If we make significant changes, we will notify subscribers by email.
