Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the satori.guru website and the Satori mobile app for iOS and Android (together, the "Service"), operated by Satori ("we", "our", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Satori provides interactive grammar practice: exercises, progress tracking, and spaced-repetition review. The website is free to use. The mobile app offers a set of free topics; the remaining topics of a course can be unlocked with a one-time purchase.

2. No Accounts; Your Data Stays on Your Device

The Service does not require registration. In the app, your learning progress, statistics, and settings are stored only on your device and are not backed up to our servers. If you delete the app or reset your progress, that data is permanently gone — we cannot restore it. Your purchases, however, are tied to your App Store or Google Play account and can always be restored (see Section 3).

3. Purchases

• One-time purchase, not a subscription. Unlocking a course (for example, English Grammar) is a single non-consumable purchase. There are no recurring charges.
• What you get. The purchase unlocks all topics of that course, including updates to the course's content — new topics and exercises added to it over time — at no extra charge. It applies to that course only; other courses, if introduced, are sold separately.
• Billing. The price is shown before purchase and is charged by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play), not by us. We never see your payment details.
• Restoring purchases. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, use "Restore purchase" while signed in to the same App Store / Google Play account.
• Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, as they process all payments. Request a refund through reportaproblem.apple.com (Apple) or Google Play's order history.

4. License and Intellectual Property

All content of the Service — exercises, explanations, texts, design, and software — is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own learning. You may not copy, scrape, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from the Service's content without our written permission.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: interfere with or disrupt the Service; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems; use automated tools to extract content; or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We do our best to keep the content accurate and the Service running, but we make no warranties about uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, or specific learning outcomes.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

8. Changes to the Service and These Terms

We may add, change, or remove features of the Service over time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

9. App Store Terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to their respective terms of service. Apple and Google are not responsible for the Service and have no obligation to provide support for it; Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with respect to the iOS app and may enforce them.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's place of establishment, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.
